Once again, Cobras travelled away with a reduced bench, and borrowed netminder, and they had to absorb alot of pressure from Oxford University's top line.
In between the Blues' attacks, Cobras had a number of good chances - mostly breakaways, and Jen Stedman had a couple of one-on-one chances before converting a scrambled goal just over five minutes in.
More of the same saw the Blues attack, and Cobras make the most of their chances with Jen Stedman scoring on a pass from Rachael Mockler as Jen left the penalty box, and then feeding Emma Stott for Cobras third.
The Blues came out fired up for the second, and after a few chances PR Stark opened their account, and was involved in their other goals as the teams entered the break tied at 3-3.
The third period was a very tense affair, with Emma Stott reclaiming the lead for the Cobras early. The Blues attacked relentlessly, and equalised with a disputed goal (an Oxford player seemingly in the goal crease) with less than four minutes remaining.
Rachel Kearn was rewarded for a solid performance with the "player of the game" award, and Charlotte Richards won the Blues award.
Scoring:
Oxford University: PR Stark 2+2(0), Charlotte Richards 2+0(0)
Chelmsford: Jen Stedman 2+2(2), Emma Stott 2+1(0), Rachael Mockler 0+2(0)
