In the 1995/96 season they were undefeated in 10 league games, 2 playoff games, and won the promotion playoff on aggregate to earn their place in the Premier Division.
The season in the Premier division was unsuccessful, they won only one game all season, away at fellow strugglers Telford, and in the unaccustomed position of being a losing team they also had to put up with long time coach Peter Hewitt resigning mid season, and also a number of players leaving for various reasons (work, babies, emigration etc.).
At the end of the season the inevitable happened, and the Cobras surrendered their Premier Division place to Division One Champions, Solihull.
1997-98 saw the Cobras team rebuilding, with a few experienced players, and quite a number of rookies, including first year coach Dave Pinchin. Overall scoring goals was the teams biggest problem, being shutout 7 times in 14 games, although there was no such problem against the leagues stragglers, with 22 of 25 goals coming in those 4 games.
Noteworthy games were the 4-4 tie at Oxford University Blues, with only 6 skaters, and the 2-0 defeat at Romford (see picture) when they had only 5 skaters, and a borrowed goalie, yet held the Nighthawks to 2-0 - those two goals coming within 10 seconds of each other.
Season 1998-99, saw the Cobras continue to consolidate their position in Division One, beating the lower teams, and losing to the high fliers. The rookies all made considerable progress.
1999-2000 saw another season of consolidation, and in 2000-2001, the team spirit improved when new coach Paul Wilcock joined the team midseason. For whatever reason, the results didn't go the right way, and so the team ended up third bottom, which was a disappointment.
Sue Williams, Jo Abbs and Rachael Mockler returned to the team in 2001-2002, but whilst team spirit improved, the results didn't, and 5 one goal defeats led to a disappointing finishing position.
2002-2003 sees the introduction of a couple of new teams, and with a strong training regime already in place the whole team has a positive outlook for the coming season.
2003-2004 saw the Cobras make big strides, and complete the season in a reasonably comfortable third place. Both losses to eventual champions Romford were very close battles.
